Arsenal v Leeds United

Arsenal v Leeds United Sitting pretty at the top of the table heading into April, not even the most optimistic of Arsenal fans could have predicted this. As they take on a Leeds side in mid-table, the Gunners know that anything other than a win hands the initiative to Manchester City. With a few injuries building up, though, the Gunners will likely need to grit this one out if they want results.

Arsenal News

Arsenal are coming into this game missing as many as six main players: Mohamed Elneny, Eddie Nketiah, William Saliba, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all ruled out of this game. Meanwhile, it is likely that both Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney will have to sit this one out as well. This leaves Arsenal with a lighter squad than one would want, but the return of the likes of Gabriel Jesus bodes well for a team fighting for the title.

Leeds United News

Leeds have a few injuries themselves, and will definitely be without the impressive Tyler Adams in midfield. Alongside him, Wilfried Gnoto and Maxi Wober are both likely to miss out on this game. This will leave Leeds with a pretty imbalanced team, and they will be relying upon the recent form of the likes of Jack Harrison to get them through a challenging match-up. With relegation battles against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest on the horizon, Leeds might hold their fire here in terms of squad risks.

Verdict

Leeds have been OK recently, but Arsenal have been clutch in the big games at home and have won handsomely with regularity. Expect Arsenal to dominate both ball and match, and with Leeds missing so many players it is hard to see them winning out over the 90.

Score Prediction: 4-1

Liverpool v Manchester United

Liverpool v Manchester United As the biggest rivalry in English football returns, both Liverpool and Manchester United need a result. The home team need a win to dispel the horror of the 5-2 reverse against Real Madrid. United need a win to keep the form going and to keep Arsenal and Manchester City honest at the top of the table. Can either team get the points they need to maintain upward momentum?

Liverpool News

Having won against Wolverhampton Wanderers midweek, Liverpool come into this game with a decent run of clean sheets in the league. They did, though, concede 5 at home to Real Madrid. Confidence is brittle, but an unbeaten run of four games and a slowly but surely receding injury list can only be a good thing moving forward. The Reds have only lost once at Anfield this year aside from the Madrid horror show, and will be confident of springing an upset.

Manchester United News

The fact that United going to Anfield – given their recent form at their most hated ground – is seen as a challenge for Liverpool is a shining example of the work done by Erik ten Haag. The Dutchman comes into this one missing a few players, with Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial likely to miss out alongside Luke Shaw.

Purple patch scoring machine Marcus Rashford should return, though, and given his record against Liverpool that should make the Anfield side very worried indeed.

Verdict

Both sides come into this one in decent form, though United are definitely the happier with their season out of the two. They have already won a trophy, and are in a league, FA Cup, and Europa League fight. Liverpool simply need to win to try and keep pace with the top four. United have the edge and the confidence, though, and it is hard to see Liverpool stopping their nemesis in Rashford – given their own issues scoring recently, they will be unlikely to win a shootout.

SCORE: 2-3

Leicester City v Arsenal

Leicester City v Arsenal When you are competing for a title, the last thing you need are banana skin games away to inconsistent sides who can thrive on the day. Leicester have shown both of their faces recently, with a 4-1 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur pairing up with a meek defeat at Old Trafford to Manchester United. Arsenal came through an acid test, winning away at Aston Villa after being defeated at home by Manchester City.

Leicester News

The Foxes are missing a trio of important players in the shape of James Justin, Ryan Bertrand, and Jonny Evans. All three are Brendan Rodgers stalwarts, and their absence has played a role in just how inconsistent things have been in the Midlands.

Leicester, though, are mostly fit and firing after a challenging period of injuries recently. They come into this one knowing that they are inconsistent, but also knowing they have the firepower and skills to beat anyone on their day.

Arsenal News

The Gunners are still without Gabriel Jesus and are likely to miss both Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey. This leaves the title chasing North Londoners scrambling for a midfield, with it being likely that Jorginho will come back in to the side after his dramatic winner against Villa. Eddie Nketiah will continue up front, flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

There is, though, a natural hesitancy about Arsenal after the Manchester City result. Nottingham Forest done them a favour and undone some of the damage, but it is now up to Arsenal to prove that they can overcome adversity by beating a side who love to play against the Gunners.

Verdict

Arsenal fans will not like this, but we can see a Leicester result here. The Foxes are known for appearing against the big teams, while they tend to have motivational issues in the average week to week games. This is a stern test for an Arsenal team who won big at Villa; we cannot see a repeat performance here, though.
